The Aomori Nebuta Festival 2026 runs from August 2 to August 7. Night parades take place from 19:10 to 21:00 on August 2–6, and a daytime parade with an award ceremony is held on August 7 from about 13:00, followed by an evening float cruise and fireworks in Aomori Bay.
How to get to Aomori
- By Shinkansen: Tokyo → Shin-Aomori in about 3h 20m on the Tōhoku Shinkansen Hayabusa.
- By air: Aomori Airport has direct flights from Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Sapporo, Seoul and Taipei.
- Local transport: From JR Aomori Station the parade route is a short walk.
Book a reserved seat in advance
Overseas visitors are strongly encouraged to book reserved seats in advance, especially for August 5–6 which are the busiest nights. Seats are placed directly along the parade route and cost about ¥4,000 per person.
